Live/ Work show @ MOMA

ok, so i went to the MOMA for the show two times.

I actually went 4 the first time two fridays ago, then today(sunday)
first, coz i went but i didnt get any of the names of the artists were shown
in the exhibiton. Also, because i went really late that i didnt finished the whole
museum before they close.

On top of that, they having a new photography solo
show at the top floor just opened (February 25–May 14)

so i went again.

lets talk about the Live/ work exhibition
first, i really love the idea of showing the connection between the performing art
and the drawing that has to do with it.
like it says on the intro on the website, "the act of drawing has historically been linked with performance, and in some cases can be considered a performative action itself."

I found it really interesting because of the fact that
the act( the performance ) is not there anymore, but because of that, you can imagine the whole "act"in your mind, in a way, the performance become more personal/ intiment to the viewer, and creat more room for imagination.

one of the works that i really like, is the one done by Vito Acconci.
Its called Notes on Movement II (body as place)
its a big sheet of graphic paper with prints of photo and writing about his three individual
performances.

They are Seed Bed, Rubbing Piece, Sinnding Board.
of all the three acts, the seed bed is the one that really interest me.

Seed bed is about the performance that he did in a museum, he builded a ramp that covered
half of the room that he performed, and he trapped himself under the ramp 5 days during a 2 weeks show.
and under the ramp all day, moving from one point to another to "produce seed" to the max
of he can produce.

On the note, he said that the meaning of the performance is "private sexual activity". He said that he can images of the visitors that went in the room(walking over the ramp) , that he can "talk to himself about them" and his fantasies can excite him. And when the seed "planted " on the floor, then it is a joint result of his presents and the visitors.

Which, i found it really sick, twisted in a way but

Factory Girl

I just got back from the movie theater after watching the Factory Girl.

Synopsis (copied from the offical website of the movie factory girl)

FACTORY GIRL imaginatively unfolds the comet-like rise and fall of 60s “It Girl” Edie Sedgwick, the blazing superstar who came to define both the glamour and the tragedy of our celebrity-obsessed culture. Sedgwick appeared to be the quintessential American princess, with her blue blood, her trust fund and her Harvard education, not to mention her ethereal beauty and vivacious charisma. But she was also a lost and fragile little girl; and when she met up with counter-culture anti-hero Andy Warhol, everything changed. Suddenly, Edie found herself at the center of a Pop Art universe bursting with sex, drugs, style and rock ‘n’ roll -- and a mad rush for fame and fabulousness that was destined to spin out of control.

Arriving into the chaos of mid-60s New York, Edie (Sienna Miller) is taken under the wing of the famously deadpan artist Andy Warhol (Guy Pearce) who sees in her untamed vulnerability the makings of an irresistible muse. Warhol invites Edie into the wild world of The Factory, a former downtown hat factory he has transformed into a bohemian paradise. Here, a rag-tag mix of musicians, poets, artists, actors and misfits gather to create avant-garde movies during the day and throw glam parties all night long. Edie quickly ascends to become the star of Warhol’s movies, an idol at The Factory and a media darling. She is on top of the world when she falls in love with a larger-than-life rock star (Hayden Christensen). But when Edie becomes caught between Warhol’s world of sexy surfaces and her new love, she winds up rejected by both – and once again, set adrift in the modern world.

There are so many thoughts that going through my mind right now(non-stop).
the life of a person the meaning of existince the fame the glame the love the money the family the drug use the art the scene the New York City.

its so much, its too much, its so hard, its so deep. the feeling is.... overwhelming.

Eternal Embrace.

I found this on Yahoo!NEWS

------------------------------------------

Eternal embrace? Couple still hugging 5,000 years on

Archaeologists in Italy have discovered a couple buried 5,000 to 6,000 years ago, hugging each other.

"It's an extraordinary case," said Elena Menotti, who led the team on their dig near the northern city of Mantova.

"There has not been a double burial found in the Neolithic period, much less two people hugging -- and they really are hugging."

Menotti said she believed the two, almost certainly a man and a woman although that needs to be confirmed, died young because their teeth were mostly intact and not worn down.

"I must say that when we discovered it, we all became very excited. I've been doing this job for 25 years. I've done digs at Pompeii, all the famous sites," she told Reuters.

"But I've never been so moved because this is the discovery of something special."

A laboratory will now try to determine the couple's age at the time of death and how long they had been buried.

--------------------------------------------------------------

This remind me a scene in a real sweet french movie i recently watched on DVD
its called Jeux d'enfants (Love me if you dare)(2004)

I really love how the movie was filmed, the whole movie was really fun to watch because of the whole movie was filled with fast pase cut scenes with fun, spontaneous thoughts that presented in a very playful style. (almost reminds me the movie "science of sleep", but different.)

story outline:
Julien is endlessley energetic and precociously brilliant, but unable to bear the heartbreak of his mother's impending death. Sohpie is wildly imaginative, mischievous and determined to be different, yet in search of someone who'll both accept and love her. When they meet one another, everything changes. They begin what seems to be a child's momentary amusement. Soon, the game has become something far more larger and thrilling than the sad and dissapointing world around them.

and the scene that i talked about was in the end, the couple seal their love by life buried themself in the similar possicion that they holding/ kissing eachother to the eternity.
